Elden Ring Equip Load & Roll Calculator

Calculate light, medium, heavy or overloaded rolling from your actual equipped weight and maximum load. The key limits are below 30% for light and below 70% for medium; compare the safe weight examples below.

Game reference: App 1.17.2 · Regulation 1.17.3 · 30 Oct 2026

Check your current load

Enter your total equipped weight and maximum equip load as displayed in your in-game status screen.

No example weights are prefilled: an empty input stays UNKNOWN until you enter your in-game values. This module uses your actual maximum load instead of estimating Endurance or talisman bonuses.

How much weight must you remove for light or medium roll?

Enter your actual equipped weight and maximum in the calculator above. This section calculates the minimum weight reduction or alternative maximum equip-load increase to cross each roll threshold, using 0.1-weight-unit planning increments. The target is strictly below 30%, 70% or 100%—landing exactly on a boundary does not qualify.

Changes needed for your entered equipped weight and maximum load
GoalWeight to removeTarget equipped weight at mostMax load to add insteadRequired maximum load
Enter equipped weight and your real maximum load above to see actionable targets.

Results stay empty until both source weights are entered. A Build Planner draft remains a draft, even after a mathematically correct roll target is calculated.

A 0.1-unit calculation is a planning increment, not a claim that every item can be removed in 0.1 steps. Increasing maximum equip load may require Endurance or game effects that this calculator does not infer. For a separate unbuffed Wretch 10–99 reference estimate, see the Endurance target planner. Check actual status-menu numbers and equipped-item weights in your game.

Four worked light-roll and medium-roll weight targets

All these are hypothetical equipment-weight numbers, not measured armor builds. Each answer is generated using the same strict integer-thousandth arithmetic as the live calculator above. Every change is a multiple of 0.1 equipment-weight units.

20.0 / 50.0Light roll5.114.90016.766.700

Why does exactly 30% not count as light roll?

A load of 21.0 against a maximum of 70.0 equals exactly 30%; the rule is strictly below 30%. Removing 0.1 produces 20.9 / 70.0, while keeping the same 21.0 load requires a maximum of at least 70.1 using these 0.1-unit planning steps. This is a numerical goal, not a recommendation to remove a particular item.

How much weight must I lose to return to medium roll?

When weight is 49.0 and the maximum is 70.0, the load is exactly 70% and therefore heavy. Remove at least 0.1 to reach 48.9, or obtain a maximum of 70.1 with the current weight. Both alternatives cross the strict 70% boundary.

Can increasing Endurance replace removing equipment?

Increasing the actual maximum equipped load can change the roll tier without removing items, but this calculation does not infer which attribute level, talisman, Great Rune or bonus will provide that increased maximum. The separate Endurance reference planner estimates an unbuffed Wretch source-website baseline and is not a guarantee of actual current-game tier.

Source and limits: the locally implemented established equipment-load boundaries are below 30% (Light), below 70% (Medium), below 100% (Heavy) and 100%+ (Overloaded). The calculator considers only the entered two numbers. Actual equipment comes in fixed item weights, so a 0.1-step goal may not correspond to any removable piece; no armor database, independently verified active effects or game-file import is assumed.

Elden Ring light roll and medium roll: safe weight chart

For each hypothetical maximum equip load, these are the highest equipment weights in 0.1 increments that stay below 30% (light) or below 70% (medium). Exactly 30% becomes Medium; exactly 70% becomes Heavy. Never round an exact threshold upward when planning a roll tier.

Example: max load 70 means a light weight of 20.9 or less, medium 21.0 through 48.9, and heavy from 49.0. The precise safe upper value depends on your own displayed in-game maximum. The buttons load illustrative values only; they do not identify your real equipped gear, apply talisman/Endurance bonuses or change a saved loadout.

Enter the max load actually displayed in the game to calculate your own exact percentage. For character attribute plans, use the Elden Ring Build Calculator; for equipment optimization the experimental armor comparison remains source-limited. Reference: Eldenpedia Equip Load.

Endurance calculator · a separate reference estimate

How much Endurance for light or medium roll?

Already know the exact weight of your equipped gear, but not the Endurance you need? This optional planner reads the previously recorded Wretch, unbuffed Endurance 10–99 base max-load values and finds the first sampled Endurance that fits your target with a 0.1 load-unit planning buffer. It is not a replacement for the manual game-value roll checker above.

Enter your actual equipped weight and choose Light or Medium. This estimates from the previously observed public v1.17 Wretch 10–99 curve, not the actual current game-client threshold.

Important boundaries: this is an independent base Endurance planning estimate. Actual load bonuses, Great Runes, talismans, gear effects, character version and even the source website’s one-decimal display precision can change the real result. We use an additional 0.1 displayed-load buffer rather than treat strict 30%/70% boundaries as exact. It is a planning buffer, not guaranteed safety. For the actual roll tier, enter your current displayed game max load into the original calculator above.

Endurance roll planning: four worked weight examples

These rows are generated from the same 90 previously observed one-decimal Wretch base-load values used in the interactive finder. Every threshold is checked strictly below 30% or 70% of the displayed max minus a separate 0.1 load-unit planning buffer. A source-site estimate is not guaranteed gameplay accuracy.

How does Endurance change equip load?

Endurance raises the base maximum equipment load, which in turn affects your load percentage at a fixed weight. It is different from adding actual carried equipment to your equipped slots: only what is equipped counts. Talismans and other active effects can also alter the real maximum. This estimate uses neither weapon Attack Rating nor any unknown equipment bonuses.

Why is my actual roll tier different?

The source stores one-decimal displayed base load, not hidden internal precision. The deliberately added 0.1 margin reduces boundary optimism but is not an exact in-game guarantee. Your real maximum can include passive modifiers; enter the actual displayed numbers into the original roll calculator for a separate current-state check.

Can I calculate Endurance below 10?

No. The existing observation series only covers an unbuffed Wretch at 10–99 Endurance. Lower Endurance values and arbitrary multi-attribute builds are not supplied or guessed. If this search returns no candidate, it only means no value in the sampled range meets the buffered planning goal, not that a player with special equipment can never achieve it.

Numeric source: earlier public v1.17 Wretch baseline stat sweep. The present feature reuses that prior source record and does not create new measurements, claim the current game client was verified, or add a separate search page.

Equipped gear · manual, source-scoped planner

Build your actual equipment loadout

Select weapons in their six equipped slots (three right-hand, three left-hand). Choose Equipped or Empty for each armor and talisman slot, then enter its exact weight from your game. The linked Build Planner shortlist is only a list of candidate weapons, never automatic equipment. Your character's maximum equip load must also come from your in-game status screen.

Choose weapons from the local community reference catalog. No weapons are equipped automatically.

Equipped weapon slots

Individual weapon weights come from local community data where reported. Unknown DLC weights remain UNKNOWN and prevent a final roll tier; this builder never makes them up.

Equipped armor & talismans

Empty means not equipped, not a zero-weight mystery item. For Equipped, weight is required, including explicitly entering 0 if the real item weighs zero. No automatic armor or talisman lookup is claimed.

Save and restore your equipped gear

Save the explicit weapon slots, manual armor/talisman weights, and maximum load on this device. A restored record is always unconfirmed, so recheck your equipment against the game before using its final roll tier. No account, backend or upload.

No equipment plan has been saved or loaded during this visit. Restore replaces the current equipment editor, never automatically.

Equipment A vs B · local comparison

Compare two actual equipment loadouts

Pin the current equipped slots as A, then edit the slots above as B. Compare actual slot changes, known weights and (only after confirmation) roll tiers. This compares equipped items, not the Build Planner weapon shortlist.

Pin a loadout A or restore it from a local save to begin. Pinning never changes your current editor.

Explore armor combinations

You can also optimize a manual list of armor pieces for weight and poise. Winning combinations can be opened directly in this calculator, with equipped weight and maximum load prefilled.

Which roll tier applies?

Below 30% = Light; from 30% to below 70% = Medium; from 70% to below 100% = Heavy; 100% and above = Overloaded. Exactly on a threshold is the heavier category. Read the thresholds against your displayed in-game maximum, including active equipment-load modifiers.

Method

Equip-load thresholds

Light load is below 30%, medium is at least 30% but below 70%, heavy is at least 70% but below 100%, and overloaded is 100% or above.

Common questions

Frequently asked

Why should I enter the maximum load shown in-game?

Maximum load can change with attributes and effects. Using the current in-game limit avoids guessing missing item data.

Does the calculator know my armor inventory?

Not yet. This checker calculates load thresholds from the numbers you enter, without an unverified equipment database.

Worked example · boundary check

Is 21 equipment weight with 70 maximum load light or medium?

21 ÷ 70 = 30% equip load, so this is medium, not light: the light tier requires strictly less than 30%. With the same maximum of 70, a weight of 49 is exactly 70% and therefore heavy; 70 is overloaded at 100%. These boundary cases are intentional, not rounding errors.

Use the maximum equip load currently displayed in your own game, including any active modifiers. Enter only equipped gear, not items carried in the inventory. For planning attribute changes, continue to the Build Planner; for rune budgeting, use the Rune Calculator.
